Prague Hunter Weekend 2025: a city of hidden walls, new friendships, and “Just One More Artwork” energy
After the success of our Paris meetup, the next adventure was clear, a city that feels like a treasure hunt even before you start looking for murals. This time, we headed to Prague.
Some cities feel like a treasure hunt even before you start looking for murals. Prague is one of them, a place where Gothic towers, hidden courtyards, and riverside paths collide with bold colours, fresh paste‑ups, and a street art scene that’s quietly exploding.
From May 22 to 24, a handfull of Street Art Cities hunters gathered in the Czech capital for a weekend of exploration, discovery, and the kind of community energy you can only get when people who love the same thing finally meet in real life.
First impressions: “I realized I had never really seen Prague before.”
For some hunters, Prague was familiar; for others, it had been a decade or more. But everyone agreed on one thing: the city revealed itself differently when explored through murals.
Kristina, from Vilnius, summed it up beautifully:
“Only during this trip, I can proudly say I’ve been to Prague and saw things that only locals know.”
Rian noticed something unexpected the moment she arrived:
“There was a wonderful sweetness in the air from trees that were blooming.”
Friday night at Kasárna Karlín set the tone, a courtyard full of art, drinks, and the buzz of hunters reconnecting or meeting for the first time. Daniel, our Czech Country Manager and weekend host, felt proud to finally show his city to the community he’d been mapping for years.
Street Art highlights: encounters, hidden Walls & AR magic
Meeting ToyBox, the moment everyone will remember
The standout moment for many came when the group met ToyBox, one of the most influential female street artists in the Czech Republic, while she was painting her new mural.
Kristina still glows when she talks about it:
“It was so lovely to meet her, talk to her… and she gave me her art postcard as a gift! It’s my most valuable souvenir from Prague.”
Rian added:
“She was such a nice woman. Inspiring to hear her talk about her mural and about female artists in particular.”
A hidden NeSpoon mural behind a secret door
One of the most unexpected discoveries was a NeSpoon artwork hidden inside a private building, accessible only thanks to a friend of Daniel’s who shared the door code.
Katerina called it “very cool and unexpected.”
Daniel loved watching the group’s reaction:
“I feel like everyone was amazed… a hidden beauty not mapped because there is no public access.”
AR in the metro, Galerie MEGA
The group experienced the School ARt Gallery exhibition guided by its curator, Katerina Moreira.
Rian described it as:
“Mindblowing! I’ve seen a mural like this in Bristol and these works were just as impressive.”
Chemis, David Reichelt & new discoveries everywhere
Rian discovered a brand‑new mural by David Reichelt not yet on SAC, the perfect hunter moment.
She was also deeply moved by the works of Chemis, especially the Greenpeace lungs mural and his piece about Czechoslovak exile.
Exploring Prague: Karlín, Žižkov, Holešovice & beyond
Daniel guided the group through three neighbourhoods he knows intimately — Karlín, Žižkov, and Holešovice — each with its own character and artistic pulse.
Kristina said:
“All trip I was impressed by our host Daniel’s knowledge… I’m inspired by his enthusiasm and work promoting street art in Prague.”
Rian added:
“Daniël was an amazing guide. His information made me understand the art in Prague better.”
Even locals like Katerina discovered new layers of their own city through the eyes of visiting hunters.
Bonus adventures: night hunts & limoncello
The weekend wasn’t just about murals, it was about the moments in between.
Night hunt to see drawETC
Despite long travel days, almost everyone joined the nighttime excursion to see a mural best viewed after dark.
Kristina:
“I wasn’t sure I had enough energy… but the group’s positivity was so inspiring. Totally worth it!”
The “limoncello ending”
After a long Saturday, the group skipped the full David Černý tour and instead chose something better:
a café, conversations, and limoncello.
Because sometimes the best part of a street art weekend is simply being together.
Community: “It felt like spending time with good friends.”
If one theme defined the weekend, it was connection.
Kristina captured it perfectly:
“Despite age differences it felt like spending time with good friends who accept you just the way you are.”
Daniel described it as a “tribal experience”, people who are never tired of walking, always ready to discover “just one more artwork around the next corner.”
Rian loved the mix of familiar faces and new ones:
“Many hunters were new to me… and everyone was friendly and interesting.”
A weekend to remember
Just like our Paris weekend, the Prague Hunter Weekend proved just how rich, diverse, and surprising the city’s urban art landscape really is. Hunters discovered that Prague’s scene goes far beyond murals, from AR exhibitions and community‑driven projects to unexpected encounters with artists like ToyBox, moments that reminded everyone how powerful it is to meet creators in person. More than anything, the weekend showed that hunting together amplifies everything: the joy of discovery, the depth of conversations, and the sense of belonging.
As Kristina put it, “Through street art we really learn about the city, its people and culture.”
That spirit defined the entire weekend.
Most hunters left wanting more, some planning to return soon, others waiting for new walls to appear, but all carrying a deeper connection to Prague and to each other. Their one‑sentence reflections say it all: from “Prague was Pretty Perfect” to “Two days of art, exploration, and inspiring conversations”, the weekend delivered exactly what a Street Art Cities meetup should be.
And the quotes that will stay with us?
That street art is about people and stories, that walking together to find ‘just one more’ artwork is its own kind of magic, and that meeting strangers who share your passion can turn a city weekend into something unforgettable.
A perfect ending to meetup number two, and a promise of many more to come.
